Good Design is as little design as possible.

"In most people’s vocabularies, design means veneer. It’s interior decorating. It’s the fabric of the curtains and sofa. But to me, nothing could be further from the meaning of design. Design is the fundamental soul of a man-made creation that ends up expressing itself in successive outer layers of the product or service."
Steve Jobs,
CEO, Apple Computer, as cited in Fortune magazine, January 24, 2000

"Good design is design that not only achieves a desired effect, but shapes our expectation
of what the experience can be."
Astrida Valigorsky,
Manager of New Media, Museum of Modern Art

Good design makes products usable and understandable. Design is central to the creation of
software; it turns information technologies into meaningful and enjoyable experiences. In other
words, design humanises technology.
To humanise is to recognise that technology cannot replace human beings. To
humanise is to disrupt current business thinking and methods. To humanise is to add emotion.
To humanise is to add fun to work and work systems.
Multi-disciplinary competencies – HCI, Information design, aesthetics – come together at Ideafarms to visualise products that are useful, usable and desirable. We have built niche services around
these competencies for designing software interfaces.
